Swiss EphemerisA key component of this software is the ability to calculate the longitudinal positions of various planets at specific points in time. This is a very complicated task and instead of re-inventing the wheel, we have simply taken the excellent ephmeris program ( "Swiss Ephemeris" ) that is available free of cost for non-commercial use from AstroDienst. There four files that are necessary :
- swetest.exe : from ftp://ftp.astro.com/pub/swisseph/programs/
- seas_18.se1 : from ftp://ftp.astro.com/pub/swisseph/ephemeris_files/
- semo_18.se1 : from ftp://ftp.astro.com/pub/swisseph/ephemeris_files/
- sepl_18.se1 : from ftp://ftp.astro.com/pub/swisseph/ephemeris_files/
These four files need to be placed in the same directory as the SmartChart Excel sheet
